Cardamom is also used to flavor the famous the Scandinavian Jule bread Julekake, and sweet buns and breads. It’s one of the most expensive spices, but only a small amount is needed to impart flavor. If you have a recipe that calls for whole cardamom, 10 pods equals about 1 1⁄2 teaspoons of ground cardamom.
